The evening will focus on the broad notion of exhibition spaces and the challenging opportunities of performance, regarding conventional practices’ settlement and media. Through audio extracts of the radio project You are a dancer, Annie Vigier and Franck (les gens d’Uterpan) and Weronika Zielinska will highlight to what extent the responsibility towards the audience, both that of the artist, and that of the operator, is to produce the critical positions and the new public.

You are a dancer, an application of the re|action process

Artists’ statement: Using the radio we transpose our work and the action of the choreographer by applying his or her injunctions, orders and exhortations to the listener. The decontextualisation of the choreographer’s authority through the use of radio appropriates the qualities, restrictions and formatting of radio itself. Our strategy lies in using the specificity of radio and the choreographer’s authoritarian ascendancy over the body. Each session applies a principle of exhortation, injunction and authority inherent or in relation to our practice (injunctions, orders, exhortations, systems of enunciation, rhythmic scores).
The sessions have different lengths. Their purpose is for radio broadcast only. Each session has its own format and programming procedure according to its nature, its radiophonic status and the intended impact.
